This policy explains what personal information LaCelle Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Verm Oust (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects through vermoust.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.
If you have any question about this policy, please get in touch.
1. Who is responsible for your information
LaCelle Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Verm Oust, is responsible for the personal information collected through this Site. We are a United States business selling natural herbal wormers and related products for animals directly to our customers.
You can reach us about anything in this policy through our contact form or by phone — see section 11.
2. What we collect
When you place an order
- Your name, billing address and shipping address
- Email address and phone number
- The items ordered, order total, and order history
- Payment confirmation details returned by our payment processor
We do not receive or store your full card number. Card details are entered into, and handled by, our payment processor. We receive only what we need to identify the transaction — such as the card brand, the last four digits, and whether the payment succeeded.
When you create an account
- Username, email address and an encrypted password
- Saved billing and shipping addresses
- Your order history
When you contact us or leave a review
- Your name, email address and the content of your message
- For product reviews: your display name, rating and review text, which are shown publicly on the product page
Automatically, when you browse
- IP address, browser type and device information
- Pages viewed, referring page, and approximate location derived from your IP address
- Cookies and similar technologies (see section 5)
3. Why we use it
- To fulfil your order — take payment, ship goods, send order confirmations and shipping notifications, and handle returns and refunds.
- To support you — answer questions by email, phone or text, and resolve problems with an order.
- To run and secure the Site — keep it working, prevent fraud, filter spam, and diagnose faults.
- To meet legal and tax obligations — including keeping records of sales.
- To improve what we do — understand which pages and products people find useful, using the analytics described below.
We may email you about an order you have placed, or to ask you to review a product you bought. We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do a job for us, and only for that purpose. These currently include:
- Payment processing — Stripe, and PayPal where you choose it. They receive the payment and billing details needed to process the transaction and handle it under their own privacy policies.
- Shipping and tax — the carrier that delivers your parcel, and WooCommerce Shipping & Tax (Automattic) for label generation, rates and sales tax calculation. Shipment tracking updates are also processed so we can tell you where your order is.
- Email delivery — our transactional email service, which sends order confirmations, shipping notices and account emails on our behalf.
- Analytics — Google (Analytics and Search Console via Site Kit), Clicky, Jetpack Stats (Automattic), and Koko Analytics. Koko Analytics stores its data on our own server rather than with a third party.
- Spam filtering — Akismet (Automattic) checks contact-form and comment submissions for spam, which involves sending the submission and related metadata for assessment.
- Reviews — our review plugin sends review-request emails after an order and stores the reviews you submit.
- Hosting and backups — our web host, and our backup service, which holds encrypted copies of the site database.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers or ourselves.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep the items in your cart and keep you signed in (these are essential — the store cannot work without them);
- remember your preferences; and
- measure traffic and understand how the Site is used.
Analytics and advertising cookies may be set by the third-party services listed in section 4. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies specifically. If you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Where a service we use honours those signals, they will apply.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records — retained for as long as required for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, normally at least seven years.
- Account details — kept while your account is open. Ask us and we will close it.
- Contact-form messages — kept while needed to deal with your query and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Analytics data — retained according to each provider’s own retention settings.
- Backups — recycled on a rolling schedule, so deleted data may persist in a backup for a short period before being overwritten.
7. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored encrypted, and card data never touches our server. We restrict administrative access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and we act promptly if we become aware of a problem.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- view and update your account details and saved addresses by signing in to My Account;
- ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your account and personal information, subject to records we must keep for tax and legal reasons; and
- unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in the email. Order and account emails are not marketing and will still be sent.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example, California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
To exercise any of these, contact us through our contact form or by phone. We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request.
9. Children
This Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make that clear on this page.
